During the recently held CSEC Connect 2026 – Regional CERTs Cybersecurity Excellence Conference, the Cyber Security Excellence Centre (CSEC) further strengthened its cooperation with the academic community through the signing of new Memoranda of Understanding.
Agreements were signed with:
These partnerships represent an important step towards systematically linking academic institutions with practical cybersecurity needs. The cooperation aims to support the development of hands-on training models, enhance student competencies, and align study programmes with labour market demands and the evolving cyber threat landscape.
Through these partnerships, CSEC will focus on:
developing practical cybersecurity training programmes for students
supporting curriculum development and modernisation
implementing joint projects, research, and capacity-building initiatives
strengthening cooperation between academia, public institutions, and industry
At the same time, CSEC is continuing discussions with additional higher education institutions, including:
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing, University of Mostar
International University of Sarajevo (IUS)
University of Bihać
These efforts build on the existing cooperation with the University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar, contributing to the gradual development of a network of academic partners committed to strengthening cybersecurity capacity in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
Strengthening cooperation with universities remains a key pillar of CSEC’s long-term vision - building a sustainable, skilled, and resilient cybersecurity ecosystem grounded in knowledge, practical skills, and cross-sector collaboration.
